Man City looking to win six out of seven against Everton

Our thanks this Monday go, as most Mondays, to the News of the World for revealing just a little more about the human condition than we were previously aware. "I always say" says a woman who has slept with a thousand men, "a slut will sleep with anyone but a tart will pick and choose." No room for such subtle distinctions in the Premier League, where you go with everyone whether you like it or not. Manchester City and Everton are two such chilly bedfellows, not because they've tried before and it just didn t work out, but because they've both got strong feelings for Liverpool, or rather Liverpool's fourth place in the league. And now they've got to fight each other to get it. Considering what's at stake, tonight's game ought to be epic, as before they can get at Liverpool, they ve got to kill each other off. And then if they do achieve the fourth place dream by season's end, with its Champions League supercash, they can have all the fur coats and stripper heels they want.

City to win?

» Manchester City have won nine, drawn three and lost just one of their thirteen league fixtures at home this season – a record which only Manchester United and Arsenal can better.

» City will go into this one with huge confidence, after recording an historic 2-1 win against Manchester United in their last Premier League outing – their first win at Old Trafford since 1974.

» chickendinner superfact: City have won five of their last six home meetings with Everton in the Premier League, including a 2-1 win in January last season.

» Eriksson's side have only conceded eleven times at home this season and only three of their thirteen Premier League visitors have managed to score more than once.

Everton to win?

» David Moyes' side have won four of their last seven league meetings with Manchester City, including a 1-0 win at Eastlands in 2004.

» Everton currently sit fourth in the Premier League, with fourteen league wins (only two fewer than third placed Chelsea) already to their name.

» The Merseysiders have enjoyed some excellent results away from home this season, collecting six wins and three draws from their thirteen league encounters on the road.

» The Toffees have won four and drawing two of their last six, including a 1-0 home win over Manchester City.

The draw?

» There has never been a Premier League draw between the sides at Manchester City.
