» Only four teams in history have won the league in three consecutive seasons - Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United (only Manchester United's came in the Premier League era).

» chickendinner superfact: The last time West Ham finished above Tottenham (2001-02), they were relegated the next season.

» The top three in the top flight have never finished in the same order for two consecutive seasons.

» In each of the last eleven seasons, at least one of the teams to be relegated has finished in the top fifteen in the previous season.

» Fulham fans will either have a great season next year or a disaster - of the last five teams to make 'great escapes', West Brom and Bradford went down the next year, while West Ham, Portsmouth and Bolton finished in the top half.

» And as if that's not enough to whet Fulham's appetite, there's a lot of talk over whether the top four can be broken next season - the last team to do so (Everton) finished 17th the season before.

» Bad news for Everton - only three times in Premier League history have a team climbed from fifth into the top four - those clubs were Arsenal, Leeds and Liverpool.

» Beware Sunderland - of the last four clubs to survive their first season after promotion, two have gone down the next year (West Brom and Reading) and the other two (West Ham and Wigan) dropped six and seven places respectively - Sunderland finished 15th.

» Winning the play-offs may feel great at the time but it is usually forgotten twelve months later - the last two play-off winners (Derby and Watford) have finished bottom, and four of the last five have gone straight back down.

» But great news for West Brom - seven of the last nine Championship winners have survived their first season in the Premier League.

» And not so good for Liverpool - of the nine Premier League seasons when the title hasn't been retained, the new winners finished second (seven times) or third (twice) the previous season.
