Lucky number 12 offers Murray hope against Nadal
At the start of the tournament we predicted that Andy Murray would reach his first Grand Slam quarter final but would fail to conquer Rafael Nadal. The day of reckoning has arrived but Murray's comeback against Richard Gasquet has given him a real sense of self-belief, and probably some sore ankles. Is that confidence enough to topple the best player in the world in 2008? Or will his hurty legs get the better of him as per usual?

Factors that favour Nadal
» Rafael Nadal has met Andy Murray three times on the tour and has won all three contests, dropping just two sets against Britain's number one. This will however be their first meeting on grass.
» Their only previous Grand Slam meeting saw Murray take a 2-1 set lead before eventually losing in five in the fourth round of the 2007 Australian Open.
» Nadal has won seven of nine Grand Slam quarter-finals, including both of his quarter-final contests at the All England Club.
» Whilst Murray will be playing in his first Grand Slam quarter final, his predecessor Tim Henman needed three attempts to win his first Wimbledon quarter final.
Reasons Murray could do it
» Like Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick suffered successive Wimbledon final defeats to Roger Federer. In the following three years, the American was either beaten prior to, or in the quarter-final at SW19.
» chickendinner superfact: Two of the last three men seeded number twelve at Wimbledon have reached the last four. Andy Murray is seeded twelve at this year's championships.
» Nadal won this year’s Artois Championship - Lleyton Hewitt was the champion at Queens in 2006, but was dumped out of Wimbledon in the quarter-final.
» Similarly, Andy Roddick triumphed at the Artois Championships last year but suffered a quarter final defeat to Richard Gasquet at SW19. Rafael Nadal was this year's winner at Queens.
