Seven reasons why Serena Williams will beat Jie Zheng
1. Serena Williams has met Jie Zheng just once before, sealing a 6-3 6-1 straight sets win at Wimbledon in 2004.
2. Williams has won ten of her twelve Grand Slam semi finals, including three out of four at the All England Club.
3. The two-time Wimbledon champion has also won all but two of her nineteen semi finals in WTA tour events.
4. Jie Zheng was given a wildcard for this year’s tournament and became the first wildcard player to reach the women’s semi finals. However, Goran Ivanisevic remains the only wildcard finalist in Wimbledon history.
5. In spite of bowing out in the third round and last eight of the Australian and French Open respectively, Serena Williams has only lost four of 34 matches in 2008.
