There's no point backing Trulli or Webber

So we all know now that Felipe Massa doesn't have a good record at Silverstone and has never finished higher than fifth. But his British Grand Prix record is world-beating compared to some other highly respected names in the paddock. Here we expose two Silverstone shams, while looking at some other ways to spend your money this weekend.

Two odds-on drivers who are unlikely to score points

Jarno Trulli: The Italian has scored points in five of eight races this year and finished on the podium this year but don't back him to do well here. Trulli has scored points in just two of his 11 British Grands Prix (none of the last four), retiring five times.

Mark Webber: Webber has been in sensational form, scoring in six of his last seven races but we're writing him off this weekend. The Australian has scored just one point in six Silverstone outings and has retired three times, including the last two.

Any other business

» Raikkonen has set the fastest lap at the last five races and is chasing Alberto Ascari's 1952-53 record of seven in a row.

» If it's not Raikkonen, it will probably be Kovalainen - between them the Finns have taken seven of the eight fastest laps this season.

» The Championship lead has changed hands at each of the last three races - first with Hamilton overtaking Raikkonen, then Kubica leapfrogging Hamilton before Massa jumped above Kubica. We therefore advise Massa not to get too comfortable with his first-ever Championship lead.

» The polesitters has won just two of the last ten British Grands Prix, with five winners coming from the front row and five the second.

» Massa has the most poles so far this season (three) but has never qualified higher than fifth in Northamptonshire.

» chickendinner superfact: Prior to Hamilton qualifying first last year, the last three British Grand Prix polesitters had gone on to win the Championship.
