The odds are stacked against Jamie Murray
Jamie Murray's mixed doubles' campaign seems to have slipped under the radar this year - perhaps because the big news surrounding him this year involves him shaving his head rather than bonking his partner. But now younger brother Andy has whimpered out, expect to hear a lot more about Jamie over the weekend. Can he win? We think not.

Retaining and winning with different partners
» The mixed doubles' trophy has been retained just three times in the Grand Slam Era.
» It has yet to be won back-to-back by a player this century - the last time it was achieved was by Cyril Suk and Helena Sukova in 1996 and 1997.
» Seven players have won the mixed doubles with two different partners: Margaret Smith Court, Martina Navratilova, Zina Garrison Jackson, Cyril Suk, Helena Sukova, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bnupathi.
» But you may notice from that list that no British player has ever won the mixed doubles with two different partners.
» And nobody has even won back-to-back championships with different partners - the shortest period between wins has been two years for Martina Navratilova (1993 and 1995) and Helena Sukova (1994 and 1996).
» Martina Navratilova is the only person in Grand Slam Era history to have won the mixed doubles with more than two different partners - she has won with four different partners.
» It may be worth noting that while seven men and women have won the mixed doubles with two or more different partners - seven have reached the final again with their new partner only to be defeated - bad news for Murray.
» Though of those seven only one of them has lost the final the year after winning with a different partner - Daniela Hantuchova, 2002.
Murray and Huber
» chickendinner superfact: Murray's partner Liezel Huber is American and the last time an Anglo-American team won the mixed doubles was way back in 1923.
» Huber has won three women's doubles at Grand Slams, including the 2005 Wimbledon event.
