Why Felipe Massa will win the German Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton's emphatic Silverstone win made it four out of five correct winners predicted here on Chickendinner, with our only miss coming when Lewis Hamilton took Kimi Raikkonen out in Canada. Egged on by our recent success, we're bolding going against the McLarens this weekend and predicting that the driver who looked like a clown at Silverstone, Felipe Massa, will bounce back and regain top spot in the driver's standings. You have our word... hopefully.

Why Felipe Massa will win the British Grand Prix
» Ferrari have won five of the last eight races at Hockenheim. The only teams to have disrupted their dominance have been Williams (twice) and Renault, neither of whom should pose a threat.
» chickendinner superfact: But it won't be Raikkonen who wins, he has only managed to finish one of his six previous German Grands Prix (in third) despite starting on pole in the last two.
» And Raikkonen is the only of the Championship top four who has failed to win any of the last five races.

» Massa has been consistent at Germany - finishing all four previous races. In his only outing there in a competitive car in 2006, he came just 0.7 seconds behind Michael Schumacher, while Raikkonen was left behind in third.
» The Brazilian is also good at responding to his critics. Back-to-back retirements at the start of the season saw his position at Ferrari threatened but he bounced back with three top-two finishes, twice as the race winner.
» Massa came third in the first practise session. At the British Grand Prix, the driver who came third in that session was Lewis Hamilton, who went on to win.
It definitely won't be Lewis Hamilton
» No driver has won back-to-back races all season.
» Hamilton has followed up his two previous wins with poor results. He followed victory in Australia with a fifth in Malaysia (where he came second last year) and victory in Monaco with retirement in Canada (where he won last year).
» He failed to win on his last outing at Hockenheim. Yes, there was no German Grand Prix last year but in Hamilton's 2006 GP2 series he came second in the feature race and third (behind Timo Glock) in the sprint.
» Practice can be deceiving. Yes, Hamilton topped the first practice session but so did Massa at last week's British Grand Prix and he had a nightmare in the race.

» The Driver's Championship lead has changed hands at each of the last four Grands Prix. If the season were to finish now, Hamilton would be classified as winner despite being tied with Massa and Raikkonen, so he will suffer the curse this weekend.
» McLaren haven't won at Hockenheim since Mika Hakkinen's triumph in 1998. They've taken pole in four of the eight races since without even finishing the job.
» chickendinner superfact: From 1994 onwards, only one driver has managed to win both the British and German Grands Prix in the same season - Michael Schumacher in 2002 and 2004.
» It won't be Kovalainen's breakthrough race either. McLaren haven't won back-to-back races all season whereas Ferrari managed four in a row at one point.
German GP Winner, best odds
