Five reasons why Kinnear will finally taste victory

Five reasons why Newcastle will beat West Brom

1. Newcastle have comfortably beaten West Brom in their three previous Premier League meetings at St James’ Park.

2. The Magpies haven’t lost a home league game to a Midlands outfit in three-and-a-half years.

3. West Brom have conceded seven goals without reply in their two league games since beating Fulham 1-0.

4. Joe Kinnear never lost more than one of his first six league games with Wimbledon, Luton or Nottingham Forest. He has already been beaten once against Sunderland.

5. Kinnear clashed with West Brom once while with Nottingham Forest. At the time the Baggies were second in the Championship and Forest had lost their last four league games against West Brom but Kinnear’s team left the Hawthorns as 2-0 victors.

Any other information

Paddy Power’s 5/6 on over 2.5 goals looks generous. Newcastle’s last nine matches have all featured three or more goals. The only potential stumbling block is that West Brom have scored just one away goal all season.
