Statistics on tonight’s other five Premier League matches
Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal prepare for a game of catch-up
While Sky’s focus is on West Ham and Hull’s battle for mid-table position, there is plenty of excitement to be had elsewhere. Liverpool and Chelsea are in action, Arsenal travel to Everton and Sam Allardyce hosts old club Bolton. Here are all the key statistics you need to know for betting on those games:
Blackburn v Bolton
Sam Allardyce will look to continue his six match unbeaten run as Blackburn manager with victory over former club Bolton. Last season he triumphed over the Trotters while at Newcastle and he beat the Magpies earlier this month with Blackburn. Rovers are unbeaten in four against Bolton, winning three. Five of the last seven meetings between the two at Ewood Park have featured under 2.5 goals but all three of their home games since Allardyce arrived have featured three or more goals.
Chelsea v Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough are on a run of ten league games without a win. The last time they went that long without tasting victory they triumphed over previously unbeaten Arsenal in their next match. However, Middlesbrough haven’t scored in any of their last six visits to Stamford Bridge and were beaten 5-0 at home by them earlier this season.
Everton v Arsenal
Arsenal have lost 1-0 on two of their last four league visits to Goodison Park but won the other two 4-1. Everton have scored first in three straight home league games against Arsenal and did so at the Emirates this season too. The Toffees are unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions but Arsene Wenger’s side haven’t lost any of their last eight league games.
Man City v Newcastle
Craig Bellamy will play his second successive match against Newcastle having faced them with West Ham eighteen days ago. Manchester City are unbeaten in six meetings with Joe Kinnear’s side and last lost to them at home in 2000. The Magpies are winless in six games in all competitions while City haven’t drawn a domestic home game in over a year.
Wigan v Liverpool
Wigan have hosted Liverpool four times in the past, losing on every occasion, while they only have a point to show from nine meetings against the Reds. Liverpool have drawn six of their last nine league games however and Wigan have taken three points more than Rafael Benitez’s side over that period. Steve Bruce’s side haven’t drawn any of their seven North West derbies to date this season which could be a bad omen as Liverpool are unbeaten in eight of them, winning seven.
