Five reasons why Cardiff won’t lose in ninety minutes

Arsenal/Cardiff, 7.45pm, Setanta Sports 1, Free Bets, Best Odds

The bizarre decision to play this fourth round replay after all the fifth round matches have taken place just to please the TV companies caused so much confusion that The Guardian somehow forgot that Burnley even existed. Both teams start tonight on lengthy unbeaten runs so cliche dictates that something has to give. chickendinner aren’t convinced though, which is why we have compiled five reasons why Cardiff won’t be beaten in ninety minutes:

1. Cardiff are unbeaten in thirteen games in all competitions, a run that dates back to mid-November.

2. The Bluebirds have kept three straight clean sheets and have lost less away games than any other team in the Championship.

3. Playing away from home didn’t hinder Cardiff’s cup progress last year either with three of their four wins prior to the semi-finals coming on the road, including a 2-0 win at Middlesbrough.

4. Despite being on an eleven match unbeaten run, Arsenal have drawn their last four games, scoring just one goal in total in those encounters.

5. The Gunners have won just three of their last nine FA Cup games during the course of ninety minutes.

SIDE STAT: Former Arsenal trainee Jay Bothroyd has scored in Cardiff’s last two games, with both matches finishing 2-0.

I agree that Cardiff won’t be a pushover tonight!

One thing that worries me most about Arsenal are their goalless draws in their last 3 games. Their strength is their attack, and it is rare for Arsenal to go so many games without even scoring a goal.

That’s 5 good reasons Arsenal shouldn’t have won. I think Arsenal provided 4 good reasons why they should.

So much egg, so little face!

Our statistics provide an indication of the most likely outcome of a match and therefore point out the best betting opportunities available but obviously there will always be results that defy the form guide.

However, since the Arsenal/Cardiff disaster we have correctly predicted Luton reaching the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final, Milan, Valencia and Man City drawing in the UEFA Cup and Spurs losing. Then the icing on the cake came when FC Twente won away to Marseille at 5/1 last night.

Yes, Arsenal left egg on our faces by winning 4-0 when we tipped them to struggle and that will be what more people remember but in terms of making a profit, it has actually been a very good week!
