Another nil-nil to the Arsenal
Five stats about this weekend’s football
1. Arsenal had gone 58 home league games without experiencing a goalless draw before their recent run of three consecutive 0-0s.
2. Mark Hughes’ Manchester City have lost eight of their fourteen Premier League away games this season (57%). The Welshman lost just six of his last 22 away games while manager of Blackburn (27%).
3. Since branding the Bolton fans who were abusing him “pathetic” after the 2-2 draw at Blackburn, Gary Megson’s Bolton have won three out of four matches to move into the top half.
4. Following the 2-1 win over Wigan, Chelsea have just three points less than they had at this point last season, when they took the title race down to the wire. The problem for them is that Manchester United are four points better off.
5. Middlesbrough hadn’t won their previous fourteen Premier League games, scoring just five goals over that entire period, before beating Liverpool, who had gone unbeaten in fifteen, 2-0.
