It’s ladies day today at Wimbledon as all four women’s quarter-finals take place. Here are three stats about each encounter:

Dinara Safina (1) v Sabine Lisicki
» The pair have only met once before, with Lisicki beating Safina in three sets at last year’s Australian Open.
» The bad news for the German is that only one unseeded woman has reached the last four in the last eight years - Jie Zheng last year.
» The world number one has won eight of her last nine quarter-final matches.

Victoria Azarenka (8) v Serena Williams (2)
» Serena holds the 2-1 head-to-head advantage but Azarenka has shown she can hang with the ten-time Grand Slam champion this year.
» At the Australian Open she won the first set before retiring in the second and then she beat Williams in straight sets in their last encounter in Miami.
» The world number two has exited five of the last nine Grand Slams at the quarter-final stage.

Venus Williams (3) v Agnieszka Radwanska (11)
» The reigning champion has a 3-1 head-to-head record over Radwanska and has won their last three encounters, dropping just one set along the way.
» Venus hasn’t bowed out of Wimbledon at the quarter-finals stage since 1999 and has won her last seven at SW19.
» Radwanska has lost her two previous Grand Slam quarter-finals, including one against Serena Williams last year at Wimbledon.

Francesca Schiavone v Elena Dementieva (4)
» Both women have won four of their eight previous meetings but Schiavone has won three of the last four.
» Dementieva has reached the semi-finals of three of the last four Grand Slams. Schiavone has never got that far and this is her first appearance in the last eight of a Slam in almost six years.
» The fourth seed has won seven of her previous ten Grand Slam quarters but still hasn’t claimed a major, making her the ultimate WTA tour bridesmaid.
