Ten statistics about England’s qualifying clash with Ukraine

England/Ukraine, Wednesday 8pm, ITV1, Free Bets, Best Odds

England fans have a reputation for fickleness but the antics of the Wembley crowd must seem refreshing to Fabio Capello when compared to the actions of some supporters in his homeland. Italy fans in Bari are expected to boo Marcello Lippi, the man who won them the World Cup, tonight and cheer his predecessor Giovanni Trapattoni, the man who twice flopped in international tournaments. The reason? Lippi refused to call up their favourite son Antonio Cassano. Capello on the other hand can expect a hearty applause this evening despite trying to pick even Darren Bent ahead of Michael Owen. Here’s ten stats about tonight’s game with Ukraine:

1. Both teams are unbeaten in Group 6, with England winning all four of their games. Ukraine have won two and drawn one of their three.

2. Ukraine are unbeaten in eight games and have won four consecutive away games.

3. However, they have been seen off easily on their two previous trips to England - losing 2-0 in 2000 and 3-0 in 2004.

Five stats about Tottenham Reserves trip to Old Trafford

Man Utd/Tottenham, Sat 5.15pm, ITV1, Free Bets, Best Odds

Will Manchester United destroy Spurs’ season?  They can knock them out of the FA Cup this weekend, beat them in the league cup final and damage their chances of staying in the Premier League when they visit Old Trafford in April. chickendinner researcher Danny Harris has pulled out five stats to help you bet on this game:

1. Tottenham have a superior record against Manchester United in the cup (five wins to four) and manager Harry Redknapp has knocked them out of the FA Cup with Bournemouth, West Ham and Portsmouth.

2. However Spurs haven’t beaten Manchester United in their last 16 meetings in all competitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo no longer scores on his travels

But sadly for Stoke, he nets more than ever at Old Trafford

Last season Cristiano Ronaldo managed to score ten goals in seventeen Premier League away games but in this campaign all seven of his goals have come at Old Trafford, despite the fact he has played just 35 minutes more at home this season than he has on the road.

Ronaldo has scored in his last ten domestic home games which comes as really bad news for this weekend’s visitors Stoke, especially considering he has already scored three goals against fellow newly-promoted sides West Brom and Hull.

All his four goals in United’s last two home league games all came in the first-half, with both openers in the first fifteen, making the 5/2 that SkyBet offer on him scoring a quicker goal than Fernando Torres, Nicolas Anelka, Darren Bent, Nicklas Bendtner and Obafemi Martins on Saturday look very appetising.
