Sky Bet have priced Manchester City at 5/2 to sign John Terry this summer despite Carlo Ancelotti’s claim this morning that he will be at Chelsea forever.

The online bookmakers are still fairly sure that the England captain will stay at Stamford Bridge though and have priced that possibility at 1/5. One player who seems certain to choose City over the Blues however is Carlos Tevez, who is 1/7 to move to Eastlands and 4/1 to join Chelsea.

The most open transfer special available on Sky Bet surrounds versatile Turkish forward Tuncay. The Middlesbrough man is 5/1 to stay at Riverside and is the same price to join Chelsea, Liverpool or City. As if it wasn’t already close, Sunderland are right behind at 6/1, with Spurs 7/1 and Aston Villa 9/1.

UPDATE: The Chelsea captain has now been cut to 2/1 to join City and is 4/11 to stay put

Manchester City are 4/7 to sign Carlos Tevez

Sky Bet expect striker to swap Old Trafford for Eastlands

Rejections from Ronaldinho and Kaka threatened to turn Manchester City into a laughing stock but following yesterday’s capture of Gareth Barry, they are being viewed as serious contenders to poach Carlos Tevez.

Mark Hughes has confirmed his interest in the Manchester United fan favourite and Sky Bet have priced him at 4/7 to move across the city.

Odds of 11/4 are available on Tevez having a change of heart and staying at Old Trafford, with a move to Liverpool 6/1 and a transfer to Real Madrid

Man City are 3/1 to qualify but the signs aren’t too promising

Manchester City/Hamburg, 7.45pm, ITV4, Free Bets, Best Odds

Paddy Power and Bet365 are offering 3/1 on Manchester City overcoming their 3-1 deficit and knocking out Hamburg tonight but the statistics suggest that they will have to perform out of their skins to do so:

» Hamburg have only won five of their 14 away league games and have drawn one and lost four of their five visits to fellow Bundesliga top six sides.

» Despite this, their European record is amazing. The German side have won all five of their UEFA Cup away games, scoring 12 and conceding just three. They have scored at least two in every game and kept three clean sheets.

Man City are good value for revenge on Fulham at 10/11

Man City/Fulham, Sunday 4pm, Sky Sprts 1, Free Bets, Best Odds

Twelve months ago Fulham came from 2-0 down in the last 21 minutes to win 3-2 at Eastlands, kick-starting their Great Escape. However, Manchester City are a lot stronger at home right now and the 10/11 offered by Bet365 looks like great value:

» Manchester City have won seven consecutive home games, six of which came in the Premier League.

» Fulham have won just one of their 15 away league games this season.

» City have the third best home points average in the division.

Manchester City have an opportunity to out-do United

Manchester City/Aalborg, 7.45pm, ITV4, Free Bets, Best Odds

Manchester United may be on the verge of winning every trophy going and breaking records on the way but their rivals have a chance to achieve something that Sir Alex Ferguson couldn’t this season: a home win over Aalborg. The Red Devils were held 2-2 by the Danes in December and City will be looking to out-do them tonight:

Strong home team versus decent away side

» Manchester City have won five consecutive home games, conceding just two goals in the process.

» The Citizens have won three and drawn one of their four UEFA Cup games at Eastlands this season (excluding qualifiers). However the opposition scored and lost by just one goal in all three victories (2-1, 3-2, 2-1).

» Aalborg are unbeaten in seven away games and have won four of their last five on the road. They average just 1.00 points per league home game this season compared to 1.89 away.

Middlesbrough’s wait for a win will reach three months

Man City/Boro, Sat 12.45pm, Sky Sports 1, Free Bets, Best Odds

A lot is made of the Manager of the Month curse but Gareth Southgate’s punishment for a brief period of success has lasted longer than most. Since winning the award for an impressive start to the season, Middlesbrough have won just three of 21 league games, dropping from sixth to joint-bottom. Given how unpredictable Manchester City have been this season, their odds of 8/13 seem a little slim, but it’s hard to see Boro turning it around this weekend:

» Middlesbrough have played twelve Premier League games without winning. Their last win came on November 9 at Aston Villa so if they don’t win this match they will have gone over three months without tasting victory.

» Southgate’s side have lost their last five away league games, failing to score in the last four.

» Manchester City may have lost their last two meetings with Middlesbrough, both of which were held at the Riverside, but they have won the last two clashes between the sides at Eastlands.
