Seven handy tips to help you identify a Big Brother winner

The UK’s most popular/despised reality TV show returns tonight

chickendinner are Big Brother fans but we find the launch show kind of overwhelming and are often forced to give up watching halfway through. Over the years we’ve gained the ability to bear Davina McCall’s false excitement over trivial things like there being pink wallpaper in the house but with so much going on, it’s a challenge to remember anybody’s name, let alone chose a favourite. This year we’re determined to survive the 1hr 35min extravaganza and to give ourselves something to focus on, we have examined previous winners and gained an idea of what to look out for tonight:

Age: The average age of Big Brother winner’s is around 24.5 but that is hiked up by 32-year-old Cameron’s win in Series 4, where he didn’t have much competition. Five of the nine victors have been aged between 22 and 24 and the last four have all been between 19 and 24 so look for someone young.

How the West Indies cricket schedule could help Everton win the FA Cup this year

The Times find an eerie coincidence that favours the Toffees

An interesting extract in today’s Times highlights an intriguing pattern that could bode well for Everton’s FA Cup prospects:

“Moyes would have hoped to avoid Sir Alex Ferguson’s team, who are on course for an unprecedented quadruple, but he may be comforted by the knowledge that on the five previous occasions Everton have won the FA Cup - in 1906, 1933, 1966, 1984 and 1995 - the West Indies cricket team have toured England. West Indies are due to play two Test matches in May.”

Stats for all eight Premier League fixtures (Part Two)

Can Hodgson conquer Scolari in the West London derby?

Fulham v Chelsea
The Premier League’s second best home team meet its best away team at Craven Cottage in a West London derby. Fulham have won just one of their last thirteen home games against Chelsea but that victory came three seasons ago and last season, over the Christmas period, the Blues had to overcome a half-time deficit to win 2-1. Roy Hodgson’s side are unbeaten against the “Big Five” this season, beating Arsenal and drawing away to Liverpool and Aston Villa but it’s been fifteen months since Chelsea went two Premier League away games without winning.

Newcastle v Liverpool
Liverpool have won just three of their last nine away games against Newcastle and they haven’t won on successive trips to St James’ Park since 1998, which doesn’t bode well as they did a 3-0 double over the Magpies last season. Newcastle’s six match unbeaten run came to an end against Wigan on Boxing Day but they haven’t lost twice in a row yet under Joe Kinnear while six league games have passed since Liverpool won two straight.

West Brom v Tottenham
