Dancing on Ice Series Four: The Contestants

Ray Quinn takes over as favourite as the men get going

If you expect a woman to win this year’s Dancing on Ice, as has been the case in two of the previous three series, then now is the perfect time to get betting. The men have already had a chance to strut their stuff and that means that the odds of initial favourite Jessica Taylor, as well as four of the other five female contestants, have all widened. Here’s our take on all of this year’s contestants:

Ray Quinn evens
The 20-year-old is a quick learner having been an award-winning child actor in Brookside, finished second to Leona Lewis in the X Factor and been in Grease in the West End. Quinn’s partner Maria Filippov has always finished in the top four and at the start of play was the only man in the top six in the betting. In the opening week, Quinn recorded the best ever first week score ever achieved by a male contestant.

Jessica Taylor 4/1

Lisa Snowdon is still 5/2 to finish as top female

Vastly improving star can still be backed at a generous price

CELEBRITY FIRST SCORE LATEST SCORE IMPROVEMENT
Lisa Snowdon 22 36 64%
Christine Bleakley 27 31 14%
Rachel Stevens 31 35 13%
Cherie Lunghi 33 36 9%
Jodie Kidd 25 23 -8%

With Rachel Stevens’ popularity cast into doubt by the fact she wound up in the dance-off despite scoring twelve points more than Jodie Kidd, Lisa Snowdon’s prospects of finishing as top female are improving by the week but she is still 5/2 with Bet365, Coral and William Hill.

As well as being the only female to have improved her score on four out of five occasions, this week Snowdon and her partner Brendan Cole became the first pair this series to score 35 or more in consecutive weeks. In each of the last two years, the couple who have achieved this feat first have gone on to win the series. Boylesports, SkyBet and William Hill all still offer 8/1 on Lisa winning.
