Dowie appointed as new QPR boss

But the bookies wonder how long he'll last
The Spoiler hopes QPR fans didn’t pay too much attention to the tabloids this week otherwise they will be feeling very disappointed right now upon discovering their new bald and ugly boss is Iain Dowie and not Zinedine Zidane.

And Sky Bet didn’t even bother waiting for the ink to dry on his new contract before putting up odds of 5/2 on him being gone at the end of the season or 7/4 on him being gone within two years.

Those odds must be considered quite attractive considering QPR devoured three bosses (including one caretaker) this year and Dowie lasted less than a year at both Charlton and Coventry.

But for the dwindling number of romantics still left in English football, you can back Dowie to take QPR up to the Premier League automatically next season at 9/2 or for them to win the league at 9/1.

Alternatively, the more cynical among you may see Dowie being axed two months into the season and QPR being relegated under their fifth manager of the season, and can back them to go down at 25/1.
